Farm Home Relais Varnello Brisighella hotels Relais Varnello is a farmhouse with arcades and an ancient wood-burning oven, situated in the gently rolling hills of Brisighella in the heart of Romagna, on an ancient Etruscan road a few Kms from Tuscany. It is on the panoramic provincial road between Brisighella (3 Km.) and Riolo Terme (7 km.) and easily reachable from the motorway. The varied landscape offers spectacular quasi-lunar geological phenomena in the Chalk Vein of Monte Rontana, the green Carnč Nature Reserve, luxuriant vineyards producing Sangiovese wine, and silent olive groves which produce the famous "Brisighello" oil. Golf Club LA TORRE Riolo Terme km. 5.Varnello comes from an ancient Celtic word meaning water. In 1099 a defensive castle was built in the area , then in 1242 it became a Curia, then a Villa and Hospital. After the 16th century this district lost its strategic importance until to-day; nowadays great interest is shown in the uncontaminated rural beauty of the region. |

Farm Home Corte dei Mori Brisighella hotels The Farm Holidays Corte dei Mori is located in the borough of Brisighella (RA), 9 km far from the border with the province of Florence. The countryside is that one of the hills of Romagna, of the Lamone river valley, and precisely of that part of territory known as Romagna-Toscana. The old rural house, now restructured, lays in a farm of 10 hectares about in SantEufemia (between the hamlets of San Cassiano and Strada Casale), 500 mt far from the Provincial Road SS 302 Faenza-Florence and the altitude is 290 metres above sea level. The particular location of the building allows a large view of more than 10 Km of the panorama below, to a point in which the valley gets narrower and makes a big turn so that the road and the river follow a large loop among steep hills. Its really easy to see, at daybreak, a deer flock pasturing in the fields in front of the house or wait patiently to watch them during the day; and a buzzard also waits patiently for small preys. During the complete restructure of the buildings we paid much attention to the details and to the materials. Local stones, hand made bricks and pantiles, bricks from Tuscany, ceilings with wooden trusses, heartwood doors and frames are the raw materials of a restructure whose main aim was the maintenance of the original or typical architectonic elements of the local tradition. Also at nightfall, its easy to find again the tastes of the antique materials: all the illuminating elements have been studied to make also the evening atmosphere relaxing. Outside, small brass lamps have been installed and run along the entry path and the adjacent green areas. Ground lights enhance the secular mulberry-trees, lamps set in the river stones walls draw the ways of the avenues and of the paths. Most of the inside lighting is dominated by materials like wrought iron, glass, copper, pottery in order to give to each room and bedroom a touch of originality and at the same time an element of coherence with the whole environment. |
