Tivoli Hotels are today owned by the Espírito Santo Hotel Group, whose involvement in the hotel business started in 1991. During the 90s, the group acquired three properties in the Algarve: the Hotel Tivoli Lagos, the oldest and most prestigious 4 star hotel in the Algarve, the Tivoli Almansor, a famous landmark in Carvoeiro close to the western Atlantic coast, and in Vilamoura, one of the most celebrated destinations in the Algarve, the impressive Hotel Tivoli Marinotel. In 2002, with the Tivoli Ocean Park Hotel, Tivoli Hotels arrived in Madeira. Espírito Santo Hotels acquired a 50% share in the company which owns this modern property in Funchal, and established a ten-year management contract.
